Sociable Weavers

These dull looking birds live in large communities, creating huge communal nests in trees or on telephone poles. Often cape cobras sneak up into these nests eating unsuspecting birds and their eggs, it is therefore very important to go cautiously when sticking your head under the nests to look inside the entrance holes. I mentioned that they were dull, however, take a closer look and you’ll see the beautiful patterns on the feathers in brown, black and cream.
